Smalls SAL Jan 2014

I went for a kind of holiday theme.

This little butterfly was designed by Maria Diaz. It looks like its dropping hearts with every wing flutter.

I think I have next month’s pattern picked out.  As long as I stop opening magazines and finding others. J

Stitch from Stash January 2014

Guess what? No pictures!

Here’s my Stitch from Stash January update;

Amount Spent: $0 (won’t last, trust me)

New starts from stash:  Dr. Who Circle, London, Santa’s House, Theme-a-licious piece, Smalls SAL piece.

WIPs or UFOs worked on: 0 (hopefully that won’t last either)

My reasons for not posting pictures go like this:

London – picture of the 1 row I have done so far was in my last post.

Dr. Who & Santa’s House – not much to see on these yet.

T-A-L & Smalls – need those for the check-in posts later this week.

Joy, there’s a floss sale at JoAnns next weekend.  Now if I can just decide which picture(s?) I’m shopping for. J

IHSW January 2014

The end of the first Hermitage weekend of the year leaves me with not much to show.  There was some stitching on SAL pieces for Smalls and Theme-a-licious which I’m not showing until later.  The not done yet part isn’t an influence at all. J

Giving in to the “Wow, I have everything I need to start this, so why not.” urge, I have a new start.

That orange line (or whatever the color name for 3340 is) marks the beginning of the London picture I mentioned earlier.  The peacock picture will be started soon.  I need to make a slightly better effort to center it before I start.  And to move past the idea of doing the whole outline first.  I’m too prone to missing stitches and not noticing in time. Ha.

New Year, New Start, New Finish

In celebration of the New Year, I’m pleased to show off my first finish.

This little Dalek was created by Dork Stitch during Sprite Patterns December.  A big thank you to her for that and all her other great patterns.

Dork Stitch's patterns will come in handy for the two SAL’s I’ve joined this year.  Stitching Lotus is hosting a Smalls SAL.  That will be fun.  And I decided to join the Stitch from Stash SAL.  With a trip to JoAnns to indulge in their year-end floss sale and a Christmas gift certificate to 123 Stitch from my daughter (Thank You!) I was ready.  I’ve spent the better part of the last few days looking at more things than I’ve been stitching. I’d say organizing but that would be stretching reality.  Here’s a random sampling of some of what I’ve come up with.

Hopefully it’s not just me, but I’m looking at this as an opportunity to start things.  Small, medium, large, it’s time.  I have everything I need to start these two.

This, of course, means that today I started a Dr. Who picture.  The pattern is from Witchy Kitt and features the 9th Doctor, Rose, Jack and the Tardis in a circle.  Either it will drive me crazy or be great fun.  Throw a couple of HAED patterns in the mix and you have a party.  They should all go well with everything I already have started.  J
