YOTA August 2015

I told myself I was going to make this post yesterday.  Before it becomes tomorrow, here it is. J

Admittedly, most of the progress on this happened Friday night and Saturday, but there is progress.  I’m hoping by the time I get the large fireplace section done, I’ll have decided on the color for the little stones.  Hmm, maybe light and dark, I’ll try to keep that in mind.

Check out Pull the Other Thread for more YOTA posts.

YOTA June 2015

Look, more fireplace:

I think I’ve found one of the many reasons I don’t get more stitching done.  Or maybe, just the newest reason on the long list.  Board games, specifically, The Settlers of Catan.  At least I won tonight. J  Who knows what will happen when we get Pandemic in.

YOTA Anyone?

Too little, hopefully not too late.
Does Free Comic Book Day count as a good excuse?
How about seeing the Avengers. (twice!)
How about I just show you that there's a little more fireplace.

YOTA update April 2015

I’m behind the times (again).  Let’s keep this brief.

YOTA progress:  more fireplace.

And a finish.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.  And a great week ahead.

YOTA March 2015

Time for another YOTA update.  I’ve made a start on the fireplace.  The colors are going to be different from the pattern but I think it will work.

YOTA February 2015

Hi there World, how was your day?  Mine was good, chores in the morning, stitching in the afternoon.  No stitching on the YOTA picture today but there is progress.

I’ve finished the largest purple section and the white on one of the other hanging lamps.  They are in front of a fire place which I’m going to change the color on.  So as soon as I’m sure I have enough floss I’m going to start on it.  The fireplace that is.

YOTA January 2015

Hi there World, how’s your new year going?  It’s time for the first YOTA post of the year.  Is it only me, or is it really easy to let the smallest thing distract you sometimes? (So many questions)  Anyway, I decided when I signed up for YOTA this year that I wanted to finish what I call my Retro Cat picture.  Here is what it looked like as of January 1st.

What it looks like today is pretty much the same.  Of my many choices of starting places I decided I had to do the purple.  Only to discover that I had apparently run out of 209 and completely forgot.  Then I found some in another box and put a few stitches on.  But it’s a different dye lot naturally.  So today I finally picked up some more.  Tomorrow, when I have enough daylight to check it, progress may commence.  I did check the orange I had and it looks good.  That means more chair next month if nothing else.

Be sure to go to Pull the Other Thread and check out all of the other YOTA participants.

Silent Time

Now that I’ve missed at least one check in date for everything I’ve signed up for, (sorry all) it’s time to right this wagon and roll on.

I do have some things to show for my silent time. Here’s the latest Retro Cat progress.  Still not done with the purple.  Darn.

And I have a couple of finishes.  One is from Lizzie Kate’s Tiny Tidings # XVII.

The other one is a Dork Stitch sprite.

AKA the 4th Doctor.  Anyone else going to see the 50th Anniversary Special in the theater?  I’ve got my ticket!!

October Catch Up

Behind the times again, imagine my surprise.

I didn’t make a YOTA post Saturday, but there was stitching! Here’s where it ended up.

More purple, for those like me who need reminding.

I finished this at the end of September and was going to post it for Theme-A-Licious.  Then I decided I didn’t want to add words to it.

It just seems so obvious that it’s a “Kirk Hootie.”

So then, I thought about posting something I was inspired to add words to.

In the end I didn’t post that either, until now.

The Kirk Hootie pattern is by Mini Cross Stitch.
The Rory pattern is by Dork Stitch.

YOTA Purple Progress

One of these days when I look at this and think I could do something besides the purple I will.  Until then, look, more purple! J

Wipocalypse August Update

I’ve made an adjustment.  I’ve combined my Wipocalypse and YOTA projects.  For the rest of the year I will just work on the Retro Cat for both reports.  So the Retro Cat looks like this.

While I had it out for the picture I even managed to put a few more stitches on it.  Plus, I realized the next YOTA report isn’t this coming Saturday but the one after.  This could be the beginning of some beautiful progress. J

YOTA - July 2013

It’s YOTA time!!

I started to fill in more purple.  Until I decided I had to fill in the blue.  You can see how well that went. J  Lots of choices for the month.  Will it be blue, purple, orange or something completely different?  Tune in next month to find out.  Same stitch time, same stitch channel.

YOTA June update

You should think of this not in terms of what did (or didn’t) happen to it in May.  You should think of all the potential it shows so far in June.  Just look at those cute purple circles. J

YOTA May

May is going to be a good month.  Why not, right?  Yesterday I got out the Retro Cat and filled in more of the darker purple.

And when I combine YOTA with Theme-A-Licious Monochrome May, its all the more reason to work on those big blocks of color.

Here’s to a good month for everyone.  Check out all the YOTA participants here.

YOTA April update

I started off deciding to finish the orange thread that was left over in the Theme-a-licious wrap up picture.  After that I was in the mood to keep going.  So ta-da, the chair is finished on both sides to the bottom of the cat.

So now I just have to find another skein of floss to finish the bottom of the chair.

In the meantime to celebrate Sprite Stitch April (see Dork Stitch’s blog here), I give you the 11th Doctor.

Can the 2nd, 4th, and 9th Doctors be far behind?  Depends on how fast I stitch. J

Theme-A-Licious March wrap up

March madness has been good to me.  There was progress on both the Retro Cat

And Do Not Disturb.

The challenge for April will be to keep making progress while adding in the Ballroom picture for Amazon April.  Fun!

No ornament for March but I’m looking forward to trying to decide on a Santa.  Or better than that, more than one!!

Theme-A-Licious Mid Month update

March Madness has been going pretty well so far.  I’ve been switching back and forth between my YOTA and WIPocalypse projects everyday and here are the results.

YOTA:

WIPocalypse:

I may even make it to the end of the month!  Especially since I’m giving myself the last weekend off for good behavior.  Ok, the con I’m going to might have something to do with it too. J

IHSW this weekend.  Time to get my stitch on and make some progress on Mal.

YOTA Update - March 2013

Happy first Saturday of the month.  It’s YOTA time!  There is progress on the Retro Cat.

There’s a cat!  And a little more chair.  I did the black line across the top for three reasons.  One – the pattern called for it.  Two – I didn’t want to do anymore orange at that moment and three – I wanted to find the other side of the picture.  So, barring any serious miscounts, there it is.

My alleged plan for making a little more progress than normal is to switch back and forth between my YOTA and WIPocalypse projects for Theme-A-Licious’ March Madness.  We’ll see by the midmonth check in if it’s working.

YOTA - January - the beginning

Wow, my first post of the year.  I have managed to stitch everyday so far, which is something.  Little bits on lots of different things.

Today’s little bit is for my YOTA project – the Retro Cat.  It was rather neglected in last year’s WIPocalypse, so I thought I’d try to make up for that this year.

This is how it looked January 1st:

And this is how it looks now:

Some progress and more to come. :-)

In the meantime be sure to check out Pull the Other Thread and all the other people participating in YOTA.
