WIPocalypse June - Cats and Doctors

Here’s my progress on Do Not Disturb.

More on the sunglasses and book.  It’s tempting to start on the actual cat, but I need to finish this bottom section first.

As Dork Stitch mentioned, she was kind enough to give me early access to her 6th Doctor pattern.  Colin Baker was a guest at Denver Comic Con this year and I thought it would be a nice way to celebrate. Here’s how he turned out.

How cool, right?  I picked up the tag at the con, I thought they went well together.  Thanks for another great pattern, Dork Stitch!!

WIPocalypse May

In an effort to avoid a, “Whoops I forgot to stitch on this” post, I took out Do Not Disturb on Sunday.  Freed from its hiding place, I added some more sand on the right side.

Once I was stitching, it was easy to make plans for more progress.  It was just as easy to put away again for my other distractions.  Some of which I plan to post before the week is done.  All while hoping I remember to take the Retro Cat out so I don’t have to make a Whoops post for YOTA this Saturday. Theme-A-Licious March wrap up

March madness has been good to me.  There was progress on both the Retro Cat

And Do Not Disturb.

The challenge for April will be to keep making progress while adding in the Ballroom picture for Amazon April.  Fun!

No ornament for March but I’m looking forward to trying to decide on a Santa.  Or better than that, more than one!!

WIPocalypse March 2013

Using Do Not Disturb as one of my March madness pieces for Theme-a-licious really gave it a lot of attention this month.

I’ll have to try that again in the not too distant future.

Theme-A-Licious Mid Month update

March Madness has been going pretty well so far.  I’ve been switching back and forth between my YOTA and WIPocalypse projects everyday and here are the results.

YOTA:

WIPocalypse:

I may even make it to the end of the month!  Especially since I’m giving myself the last weekend off for good behavior.  Ok, the con I’m going to might have something to do with it too. J

IHSW this weekend.  Time to get my stitch on and make some progress on Mal.

WIPocalypse Update Feb. 2013

One month I’ll keep this out and work on it more.  This was not that month. J  I’m pretty sure I’ve finished the lightest color of sand across the bottom.

The easiest way to know that for sure is to do the next color – of sand.  Sigh.  I shouldn’t say that.  After all there’s not as much of the second (and third) color.  I’ll be on to that can that fits into the space on the other end in no time.

WIPocalypse Jan 2013

Welcome to the first full moon of the year and the beginning of WIPocalypse, the sequel.

This year I decided to concentrate on just one project which is Do Not Disturb.  Not that there’s much sign of concentration so far. J

Just that much more fun for next month!

WIPocalypse - December

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas.

WIPocalypse projects didn’t see too much activity this month.  On the Ballroom picture I filled in a few stitches along the edge and added a little dark brown.

On Do Not Disturb I finished the light green on the flip flops. (I know – WOWJ)

Mythical Dragon sort of fell by the wayside, but these things will happen.

In the end, no matter how far I didn’t get, everything is farther than it was.  How can you not like that?

I’m thinking of signing up for the sequel.  Next year I’ll just focus on Do Not Disturb.  In between all the other distractions that is!

WIPocalypse November

It makes perfect sense right?  I finally make a copy of Do Not Disturb so I can mark off where I am on the sand and what do I work on – the flip flops!

Kind of nice though.  It has more color.  And I know where I am with the sand now too. J

WIPocalypse October

To prove I know it’s not Monday anymore, J let me start by saying:

         HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Also, I hope everyone in the Northeast made it through Sandy ok.

Now for stitching.  I took out Don Not Disturb and put a few more stitches on that over the weekend.

I was thinking of switching colors just to help it look different.  What I settled for was finishing the light sand color.  At least in the first 20 rows. J  Plenty more fun to come.  Right after I stop looking at all the pretty Christmas patterns.

July WIPocalypse

Welcome to the first month of the last half of the year.  June ended much as it began, with my wandering eye looking at things to start rather than continue.  I am pleased with the progress I did make.  On the Ballroom picture I have finished the mirror over the fireplace and moved on to the wall.  Look – dark green! J

More sand and flip flops to show on Do Not Disturb.

So now onward to see what the next month has in store.

WIPocalypse April

Let’s jump in:

Ballroom:

I think there was more progress on this before I went to work on it again. That’s when I discovered there were two extra rows in it.  (I blame those stitching elves – such pranksters!)  The best part (?) is that the two rows were over in the white and blue section on the edge. So now I can fix those two stitches I put in with the wrong color earlier. Joy. J

Mythical Dragon:

I’m not sure about this one.  Working with all that filament is just not fun.  I use that Thread Heaven which helps some but it just doesn’t look good to me.  I’ll have to find a different way to work this.

Do Not Disturb:

Nothing much new with this one. I did get a little farther on the flip flops.  Next I may try to go back to the sand.

That’s all for this month.

WIPocalypse March

Wow, nothing like a due date to point out what you’ve been doing for the last month.  In terms of the Ballroom and Dragon pictures that equals nothing.  Do Not disturb faired a little better.  I put in more sand and some green for the flip flops (so I could see something besides sand).  I need to try a little harder on this one.  My friend’s birthday is in July and it would be nice to have it done by then.  J

WIPocalypse - Feb - Tiki Stitches

Project 1 – Ballroom
There are two things about this that are hard to believe.  One is that after all those years of sitting around it’s become twice as large as it was.  The second is that I’ve messed it up already.  Actually that part I believe.  For the sake of progress those two stitches will just have to stay the way they are.

Project 2 – Mythical Dragon
I thought I could move this out in two directions.  Quickly learning the error of my ways I settled for one.  So now we have the top of one wing.  Part of it anyway.  Very soon I should be able to answer the question of which is more annoying – confetti stitches or half stitches in 3 or 4 strands.

Project 3 – Do Not Disturb
It looks like I took the title a little too seriously.  Still there’s some sand on the bottom.  If I need a different color I can start on the green flip flops.

That’s all for this month.

WIPocalypse post #1 January

So it begins.  The epic battle to see which one of these three pictures I stop working on first. J  They’re neck and neck at the moment which is fine by me.  For all I haven’t done on them I was still ready to keep going.  Darn all those other things you’re supposed to do every day.

1. Summer Ball
I took this off the stretcher bars I had it tacked to so I could try to wash out this stain on the fabric.  That almost worked but I haven’t put it back on the stretcher bars yet.  I did manage to put some white in the mirror on the corner.

2. Mythical Dragon
I started this one in the middle.  Mostly because it seemed like the best place.  The green blob is going to grow up to become a dragon.  A very shiny dragon since it calls for two strands of filament and only one of floss.

3. Do Not Disturb
This one was started at the bottom.  Once again because it seemed like the best place and not just because I’m out to confuse myself.  That will happen soon enough I’m sure.

That’s all for now.  Next month’s update will (hopefully) have fewer words and more stitching to show.
