Theme-A-Licious February 2013

Figures and snowmen were the topics for February.  In the end I came up with 2+ figures and 1 snowman.  By mid-month I’d finished Sherlock and Mal’s head.  Mal hasn’t gotten any attention since then, but I do have one other figure.

Because Sherlock is nothing without Watson.  Another great pattern by Dork Stitch.

Yesterday I posted my snowman finish for the month.  Tomorrow I’m not going to post (!?), but I’ll be back on Saturday with my YOTA update.

A Multi Purpose Snowman

Say hello to my dual purpose snowman.  He’s my finish for the Ornament SAL hosted by Stitching Lotus and Theme-A-Licious hosted by It’s Geek to me.

He’s from the book “365 Quick Christmas Cross Stitch Designs” by Kooler Design Studio.  So plenty of source material for the rest of the year.

Sad to say, Mal won’t be completed by tomorrow.  I’m off to look for Watson.  If I can find the colors maybe he can find a finish.

WIPocalypse Update Feb. 2013

One month I’ll keep this out and work on it more.  This was not that month. J  I’m pretty sure I’ve finished the lightest color of sand across the bottom.

The easiest way to know that for sure is to do the next color – of sand.  Sigh.  I shouldn’t say that.  After all there’s not as much of the second (and third) color.  I’ll be on to that can that fits into the space on the other end in no time.

IHSW Feb 2013

Stitch wise it was a good weekend.  I worked on Do Not Disturb, which I’m saving until next week to show for WIPocalypse. (Just in caseJ)

Mal got such a nice response that he scored some attention.  So now he has a head and the start of a shoulder.

My ETI gifts got a good response from my B & SIL too.  So hey, a good weekend all around.

Mid February TAL and ETI

Hello!  Time for the mid-month Theme-A-Licious check in.  Topics of the month: figures and snowmen.

Here’s a figure -8.  Whoops!  Not that figure.  Let’s try this one.  This is Mal from Firefly.

Or he will be someday.  Hey, his hair is finished. J

How about this figure.

This is Sherlock.  He took some time from flitting back and forth between those other franchises (H, ST) to sit for his likeness with Dork Stitch.

Watson, as we know, is still off in Hobbit land but may put in an appearance by month’s end.

February’s ornament is a snowman.

Slow going.  There’s hasn’t been as much snow to work with around here as there is back east.

ETI

Which stands for Everything That Isn’t.  As in YOTA or WIPocalypse or Theme-A-Licious, etc, etc.

Right now that’s a couple of pieces I finished for my B and SIL.  Those are:

The sailboat, designed by Lucie Heaton.

And the scarf my SIL wanted.  At least I hope she does, she hasn’t seen the final result yet.  This was a free pattern I found on Ravelry.  It’s called an Infinitude scarf.

Hey, it’s time for IHSW. Psych up! Sign up! Enjoy!

It’s Groundhog Day and time for the YOTA check-in.

This month’s progress includes more cat, a little more chair and, wait for it, another purple circle.  Look at me zoom!  LOL
