Laid back IHSW

Not too bad.  I finished the yellow color I decided on for her top and started on the blue.  Plus, I picked out the other color I’m going to use for that last word (hippie).  So progress with the potential for more.  Always a good thing.

Almost

I started working on Be Hippie again the other night.  While I was stitching the yellow I was almost thinking it would have looked better on blue fabric.  Lucky for me, when I got it out in daylight I decided I liked it this way.  So I plan to work on it for IHSW this weekend and have more progress come Monday.

WIPocalypse post #1 January

So it begins.  The epic battle to see which one of these three pictures I stop working on first. J  They’re neck and neck at the moment which is fine by me.  For all I haven’t done on them I was still ready to keep going.  Darn all those other things you’re supposed to do every day.

1. Summer Ball

I took this off the stretcher bars I had it tacked to so I could try to wash out this stain on the fabric.  That almost worked but I haven’t put it back on the stretcher bars yet.  I did manage to put some white in the mirror on the corner.

2. Mythical Dragon

I started this one in the middle.  Mostly because it seemed like the best place.  The green blob is going to grow up to become a dragon.  A very shiny dragon since it calls for two strands of filament and only one of floss.

3. Do Not Disturb

This one was started at the bottom.  Once again because it seemed like the best place and not just because I’m out to confuse myself.  That will happen soon enough I’m sure.

Big Bang finish.

I’ve finished stitching all the Big Bang Theory cast as created by Dork Stitch.  Not a half bad start to the New Year.  A little wording and some backing to finish it off and it will be ready to give away.  Thanks again Dork Stitch for such great patterns.

Now I’m off to drink some hot chocolate and finally get some stitching in for today.  See you all Monday for the first WIPocalypse update.

Musical Sprites

For my final finish of the year I’m not going out with a big bang but a song.  As in “Hey, hey, we’re the Monkees”.  These were designed byDork Stitch and as with all of her other patterns were great fun to do.  I have an idea in mind for the completed finish but I won’t mention it just yet in case I change my mind.  That may also give me a chance to convince my BD (in my world that’s “Brilliant Daughter”) to backstitch “Hey, hey, we’re the Monkees” on there for me.  She likes backstitching (honest J) so if I’m lucky she can squeeze it in between her other projects.  This is what it looks like right now.

As for the Big Bang cast, Leonard is done now.  If I didn’t have this book I wanted to finish tonight I’d start on Amy or Bernadette.  There’s always next week (year?)

Sprites? Elves? No, Sprites!

Two and ¾ sprites to be precise. I did say this would be a New Year’s gift right?  I might make it. J

I did finish off my Surfing Santa.  He looks pretty cute in this little white tree I have.

IHSW - Home for the Holidays?

It’s finally done!! One less WIP to carry into the New Year.

And now back to some of those other things I started instead of finishing the house (or anything elseJ).  I’ve started on the Big Bang Theory cast as created by Dork Stitch.  Penny is done and Sheldon, who I cropped out, is right above her and nearly done.  My plan is to turn them into a bell pull.  Of course the other part of the plan was to give it to my brother for Christmas.  Fortunately I have an understanding brother who’ll like it just as well on New Year’s.
